Staff Development: Core Standards, Curriculum Alignment and Performance Assessment

The alignment and implementation of State Core Curriculum Standards to each district's curriculum is a daunting task which is often perceived as painful by many teachers. Corn Associates' educational consultants are able to assist pre-k to grade 8 district Professional Development Teams by developing in-service programs for teachers and staff.

Our staff development programs show teachers how to move through a process of aligning core standards with curriculum and plan performance based, as well as brain-compatible teaching strategies for implementation into classroom settings. Teachers gradually become "standards comfortable" as well as "standards directed," as they focus and sharpen their teaching through alignment with the standards.
