Student
Proficiency Checklists on Core Standards
The
checklists can be utilized:

To
plan curriculum and create performance tasks (learning experiences)
linked to standard indicators.

To
assess each student's proficiency in meeting standard indicators,
using a developmentally appropriate marking system.
Use a) (Suggested
for Grades Pre-K to 2) M = Most of the time ; S = Some of the
time ; NT = Needs Time
Or b) (Suggested for Grades 3 to 8) P = Proficient ; D = Developing
; N = Needs Work ; I = Incomplete
Or c) (Suggested for ISEP/IEP Planning) A scale of one (lowest
proficiency) to ten (highest proficiency).

To
assess the proficiency of students with either an Individual Student
Education Program (ISEP) or an Individual Education Program (IEP).

To
identify indicators related to student work samples for portfolio
collection.

To report student progress to parents. The School Staff, along with
the parent, can establish a "student expectancy level".
This "expectancy level" can be used as a baseline against
student performance.

Identify
strengths and weaknesses of students that can be used in continuing
educational program planning. As the basis for revising and aligning
report cards to the core standards.
